We won!

This is the first game the girls win. They were so excited!

Bianca’s been enjoying soccer. She likes she knows a couple girls from school and the fact they are there to have fun above all. And I like their coach really emphasizes that.

It is so fun watching her play and see the progress and improvement in every game. And their cute faces after they won the game... priceless!

We lost!

We were so excited to watch Bianca and her team play for the very first time! The girls were a bit lost on their positions and were not sure what to do as expected for children who are playing for the first time.

The weather was not cooperating much either. It was a chilly, windy day making harder for the girls to run and breathe. But it was good for them to understand how the game works and what to expect on the next one.

Sports

Last year I told the girls they should pick a sport they think they would enjoy playing this summer. My girls are not into sports very much. They occasionally play ball or watch a game with their dad. But as they grow their bodies need more exercise then just playing outside.

Bianca picked soccer and Giovanna picked volleyball. Bianca practices once a week and has games on Saturdays. Giovanna plays for a couple of hours every Monday when I don't work.

They still go to piano once a week because as I have told them- piano is not negotiable. Bianca still wants to do back horse riding, but I need to see how we would fit it into our schedule. For now I think they chose the right sports and I think they will really enjoy it.

Spring Break 2025- Capital Reef

Deciding what to do this Spring break was a bit challenging, specially because it was my last week of orientation at Home health and I was so busy and overwhelmed. It was a last minute decision, but on Friday we headed to Capitol Reef.

The weather was not very promising and sure enough we got there to find rain and snow. The good news is that the rain/snow would start and stop, giving us breaks to enjoy the view and take some pictures.

We rented a small cabin five minutes from the park and when we were not hiking, we were playing games, drinking hot cocoa, and eating snacks.

The following day the weather was chilly but the sun showed up and stopped raining. We spent the whole day at the park driving around. Capitol Reef is beautiful! It does remind me of Grand Canyon but smaller- way smaller.

We drove through Capitol Reef scenic drive, hiked the Hickman bridge, walked through Fruita Historic District, visited the Petroglyph, watched the sunset at Gooseneck Point and the stars the Sunset Point. I am glad we decided to stay for a couple of days- it was just enough to see everything we had planned (except for the Moon and Sun temples that required a high clearance vehicle).

Beware there is not a lot of options for food in Capital Reef and they are overpriced. We had a bit of a hard time finding something we like with a fair price. We tried a Mexican Restaurant- La Cueva on our first day. It was good but expensive.

On our second day we ate at The Rock Garden Eatery and Bar. I asked for a sautéed chicken with white rice, Bianca got a burger, Giovi got fettuccini alfredo with chicken, and Ale got fettuccini alfredo with steak. I really enjoyed the food, but Ale felt sick afterwards. Poor guy!
