FSY- Giovanna

Giovanna participated in five days of devotionals, classes, and activities focused on Jesus Christ.

On Thursday she called to say she was homesick. This was the first time Giovi spent one entire week away from us. I was missing her terribly but I encouraged her to finish strong and really take this time to focus on herself and on this unique experience.

On Saturday morning Ale went to pick her up. She was so excited to be back home and tell us all about her days at FSY. She brought home many beautiful memories along with a stronger testimony of the reality of the gospel. I couldn’t be more proud.

 Today at church Bianca told her dad he should shine his shoes. Well, guess what?

Dad put her to work. And they are looking great! 

Giovi is back

 Giovi is back from FSY and to celebrate it we had dinner at one of her favorite restaurants- The Cheesecake Factory. 

The girls asked for their traditional Louisiana chicken pasta. Ale got spicy chicken chipotle pasta, and I tried the sweet corn tamale cakes which was delicious. It reminded me of my favorite dish at The Cheesecake Factory they no longer have- chicken stuffed tortillas with black beans and sweet tamale cake.

Then it was Ale’s turn to choose the cheesecake (we still take turns choosing the cheesecake for dessert). He picked the new triple berry bliss cheesecake that tasted more like bubblegum than berries. Not my favorite. 

Off to FSY

Today Bianca and I drove Giovi to the BYU for her very first FSY- For the Strength of the Youth Conferences. Bianca and I helped her getting her badge, finding her dorm, and getting all settled before kissing her goodbye.

As soon as she shut the car's door my heart ached a little. This is the first time we will be apart for a whole week. I am excited for her though. I know she will learn so much.

After dropping off Giovanna at FSY I took Bianca to the Provo Rec Center. I really like it there because they have both indoor and outdoor pools. Bianca's favorite is the wave pool, and we can get tubes for only a dollar each.

We spent a few hours there and we had a lot of fun. I like having these one-on-one time with the girls. We talk, laugh, and bond. Giovanna will be back home on the 12th.

4th of July 2025

Happy Fourth!

Ale and the girls drove to Lehi to spend the 4th with the Matutes as we do every year. Thankfully, my patients are usually in the Lehi area so after my last visit I was able to come over and watch the fireworks with them. 

On the next day we had barbecue with the Parrys, and later on we all drove to Pleasant Grove to see the US flag- the largest American flag currently being flown. It was majestic!

I was not aware that they hang the flag every 4th of July and they also hold several different events throughout that week. I will be sure checking it out next year!

This is the Place

We are back to This is the Place. This time we invited the Britos to tag along and it was a great idea. The kids had so much fun!!! 

This is the Place was all decorated for Fourth of July which is my favorite! Unfortunately, we won't be able to participate in its festivities because I am scheduled to work and Ale and the girls are going to the Matutes, but I am definitely taking the girls there for Pioneer's day.

The kids visited the Heber East Ward school and rode the train up to the treasure house to find some gems and take them to the bank to be weighted, which we didn't get to do last time. 

This is the Place is so big and we haven't seen everything yet. I am also interest in doing the horse back riding around the property. I think Bianca would love that. We will be back again very soon.
