An evening at Temple Square

What I love most about Salt Lake is being able to enjoy the magnitude and beauty of Temple Square. As I walk through the gardens and pay attention on the details of the Salt Lake temple, I feel gratitude. We are free to live our faith. We can live it in peace.

Besides planning our celebrations for Easter, this week we will also be talking about the 185th General Conference that is happening this weekend.

General Women's Meeting and more

Saturday I had the privilege to attend the General Women's Meeting of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was beautiful and very enlightening. All speakers talked about the importance of  keeping our families strong amid world attacks and criticism.

My favorite quote of the night was by sister Bonnie L. Oscarson:

"May each of us treasure this truth; one cannot forget mother and remember God. One cannot remember God and forget mother. Why? Because these two sacred persons, God and [our earthly] mother, partners in creation, in love, in sacrifice, in service, are as one."

Meanwhile daddy took Giovanna to watch the Jazz vs. Thunder game.
They had a blast and sent me these cute pictures

I absolutely love these two!

Also, we finally decorated our home for Easter.
When I asked Giovanna if we should buy some chocolates to fill our cute Easter bunny bowls, she promptly answered: "No. Let's just put some fruit snacks, cereal bars and cookies."

And so we did.

Water Fun

What a hot Friday! And a hot day asks for... water!!!

So that is what we did all day long...

Tomorrow I'm attending the General Women's Meeting. I can't wait for Giovanna to be eight so she can join me on this marvelous event!

The four of us

A few weeks ago Giovanna was complaining her friends from preschool judged her for scribbling instead of coloring nicely in the lines.

Well, today she drew this beautiful picture of the four of us:

Everyday she makes me a proud mama.

Saving

Giovanna has a piggy bank and there we put those changes we don't like carrying on our wallet, one-dollar bills, and sometimes, with extra luck, five and ten-dollar bills.

It is like they say: "Penny and penny laid up will be many".
Giovanna deposited a total of $63.00 in her bank account. Not bad for a first deposit!

Then she wanted to go to Disney Store to buy a Flynn Rider.

Dental Surgery

So today was the big day. Giovanna had her dental surgery. We got there at 11:35am and waited until noon to take her in. They sedated her and I ran to the bathroom to cry. Yes, I cried. It's the worse experience leaving your beautiful, fragile, little girl unconscious in a surgery room.

Fortunately the surgery didn't take long and less than one hour we were back home. Giovanna is such a good, strong girl! She slept for a few hours and woke up just fine, happy and ready to watch Cinderella as we had promised her.

Tooth Decay

Giovanna had a rough night last night. She woke up several times complaining her ears hurt, so we are taking her to the doctor this afternoon. She's been having ear infection every month. She feels awful and it's so sad!

Also tomorrow morning she has a dental surgery to treat a tooth decay.  I was surprised when the dentist said she had one since she has a health eating habits and a good dental care routine, but he also said it can simply be caused by genetics. My poor little girl!

If Giovanna fells okay after surgery, we are planning to take her to the movies to watch Cinderella.

Utah Jazz Vs. Washington Wizards

A couple of days ago we went to the Jazz Game. It's been a while since we went last time. It's always fun! Giovanna loves it! Her favorite part it's when the bear (the Utah Jazz Mascot) makes his appearance. She claps her hands, makes some noise and plays along when he raises the signs. (If you've been to a game, you know what I'm talking about).

It was a super fun night.

St. Patrick's Day

I still can't believe I missed the St. Patrick's Parade we go every year. I'm specially sad because I have been talking about it for weeks, then when the day had finally come, it totally escaped my mind.  This is just one of the things that happens to me when I'm pregnant: I forget.

Anyways, that day Giovanna had a playdate with her new friend Alice from Brazil at Discovery Gateway, then we had ice cream on our favorite creamery. She had lots of fun!

I worked all day on the 17th (the actual Patrick's day), but at least Giovanna had a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal with green milk in the morning. Does that count?

I hope you had an exciting St. Patrick's day!

St. Patrick's day last year HERE.

Back to Life

I know I've been posting in a monthly bases, but my absence is due to the fact I don't feel like writing (or pretty much doing anything), besides sleep. Fortunately - slooowly - I'm coming back to my normal activities.

Baby is still doing fine and Giovanna is loving the idea of having a little brother or sister. She talks about it all the time! It's cute. Daddy is excited to find out the baby's sex next month and he's hoping for a boy - of course! But we'll be happy with another little girl.

Besides enjoying our baby and getting ready for his/her arrival, we've been busy working, studying and having some fun.

Have you noticed we barely had winter this year?

A few weeks ago we had our first (and only) snowfall of the season. We enjoyed it taking Giovanna to sled at Sugar House Park. They have the best sledding hills there! We also built a snowman and played snowball fight.

Now we are just excited for Spring and Summer.

16 Week Visit

The best thing about prenatal visits is listening to our baby's heart and knowing he or she is growing and developing well.

Mommy is also doing fine! Didn't gain much weight and drew some blood for the triple screen test.

Also, the doctor scheduled the ultrasound for next month!
Hooray!!! Can't wait!
