Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas!

This year we spent Christmas eve with the Matute family. It was the very first time we spent Christmas eve with friends. We've been going through tough times since Ale lost his job a few months ago, so we decided to be around friends and try to enjoy this beautiful Christmas season.

We had a great time, playing, dancing, laughing and eating yummy food.

On Christmas day we planned a little celebration for just the four of us. It was our first Christmas with baby Bianca and I wanted to make it special. We had dinner, then built a gingerbread house.

Isaiah 9:6
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace".

Christmas Miracles

Christmas miracles happen when loving, caring people remember those in need and are willing to be instruments in God's hands.These past few months have been hard for our family. We've been through a lot, but yet we've been seeing God's love and mercy in all times.

This Christmas season angels of our Heavenly Father have been stopping by and leaving gifts for our family at our door. We are so grateful! Finances got a little tight since Ale lost his job at GSC last April.

I never really blogged details about that because it just so sad, unfair and frustrating. But we are cracking our brains trying to figure something out, and I am sure Heavenly Father will help us as He always does.

How Grinch Stole Christmas

Christmas events are the best. I love going out, specially at night when the Christma's lights are on everywhere. The city looks beautiful. 

A few days ago we took the kids to watch How Grinch Stole Christmas at the Natural History Museum. Giovanna loves that movie and she was so excited to go.

Bianca was wonderful and watched the whole play like a big girl.

Giovi had a fun time. She didn't even care that Grinch was actually a lady.

Giovi ice skates for the first time

Last week we took Giovanna to ice skate for the very first time. We went to the rec center in Cottonwood Heights. At first she was a little hesitant but soon she didn't even want us to hold her hand. It is so cool how kids learn so fast!

Last winter I wanted to enroll her in ice-skating classes, but I knew she would want me to skate with her and I was pregnant, so I couldn't. I got so happy I was able to do it with her this year! I usually Rollerblade a lot but ice skating is super fun too!

Daddy stayed with baby Bianca while we skate. Then we took turns.

Giovanna's Christmas Presentation

Yesterday was the last day of school for Giovanna. She will be back beginning of January.

She performed a beautiful presentation for us. She sang songs and recited poems.

I love seeing my beauty in action.

Bianca is 4 months old

Bianca is doing great! She is healthy, strong, and beautiful. The stranger danger phase has started and she cries every time an unfamiliar face approaches her. She doesn't like anyone besides mommy and daddy holding her.

This sweet baby of mine is almost 4 months old already. I wish I could stop time!

Baby Bianca:

Smiles - specially at daddy

Grasps hair, fingers and toys

Sleeps through the night on her crib

Communicates and makes the cutest noises

Loves warm baths and splash her feet in the water

Snow! Snow!

It is finally snowing in Utah!

Lighting Our Christmas Tree

We finally set up our Christmas tree! It is a beautiful tradition and I really make a big deal out of it. Everybody in the house has to participate! We decorate our tree and the rest of the house, we play Christmas songs, we laugh and dance, we talk about Christ and our believes, and what we want to get from Santa. 

Giovanna already knows what she wants for Christmas. And she keeps asking why Santa is taking so long. Silly girl.

We are also very excited to spend our first Christmas with our sweet baby Bianca!

Best time of the year

I am so sick. Yesterday I washed my hair and went outside in a windy cold day. Every time I do that I get sick - sore throat and body ache. Ale's been great! He has been taking care of the kids, driving Giovanna to school, fixing meals and making me hot chocolate. 

I pretty much shower every two hours, sleep and read books to Giovanna before bed these days. That is it. I hate being sick! I am hoping to get better soon so we can decorate our house for Christmas. We are all very excited! This is the best time of the year!

Living Planet Aquarium

I can't believe December has arrived and soon we'll be setting up our Christmas tree. Is time flying or what? Yesterday we took the girls (I LOVE saying that on plural!) to the aquarium. I think last time we went Giovanna was about 3 years old. It was fun!

The new aquarium is now located in Draper and opened its doors on March 2014, and it is much bigger than the old one in Sandy. They also have a few new exhibits. Our favorite part is definitely the Journey to South America - maybe because we are from South America. I love to see the toucans and Giovanna loves crossing the adventurous forest bridge. It was Bianca's first time at the aquarium. She was very curious about everything around here. I can't wait for her to grow a little bigger so these two princesses of mine can have some fun together!
