Getaway- Covid-19 day 693

Guess who stayed with the girls so Ale and I could get away and have some alone time?

We spent the night at the Best Western hotel in Coalville, about half an hour from Park City. It was so calm and relaxing being able to step away from our responsibilities for a bit and be together just the two of us.

The next day we drove to South Jordan to have lunch at The Iron Door. The initial plan was to go to Lucky 13, but I left my wallet with my ID at home.

It was a much needed get away. Let’s have another one soon, babe. And THANK YOU vovó Zete!

Vovó on duty- Covid-19 day 689

Since I started working, it became harder for me to volunteer at the girls’s school. Who knows me also knows I like being involved in my kids academic lives.

Last Tuesday I was able to help with lunch recess. The school is always in need of volunteers to watch the students while they are in recess right after lunch.

Vovó Zete tagged along and volunteered too. The girls were so excited to see is there, specially Bianca who absolutely loves when I show up at school to help out.

It was SO cold! The weather was ugly with cloudy skies and an annoying cold wind. Vovó Zete did great and stayed strong til the end. Then we rushed back home for a warm drink.

Provo Beach- Covid-19 day 688

Seven Brothers and Provo Beach with vovó Zete.

I ordered my favorite Shem burger with homemade guacamole, bacon, and melted American cheese for myself, and a Polynesian salad for my mom (have you tried it? So good!).

After our delicious meal, the girls played at Provo Beach, and I headed to work.

Windsor Park- Covid-19 day 687

Last Saturday was a beautiful day to take the girls and vovó Zete to the Windsor park.

I lost count of how many times the girls called “vovó”. They are loving having grandma here. They have so much fun together it’s beautiful to see!

Bibi loses her first tooth- Covid-19 day 686

My baby girl is growing, and I have mixed feelings about it. It’s been always hard seeing my girls grow.

Yesterday my Bibi lost her very first tooth. Her bottom tooth has been loose for a while now, and today it fell off while bitting an apple.

First we thought she had swallowed it with the apple. Then we searched for it on the rug, which was hard because our rug is thick and fury. But fortunately we were able to find it.

Before bed Bianca was sure to place her tooth in a ziploc bag under her pillow. Today, she woke up to find $20 Tooth Fairy left for her after picking up her tooth. Tooth Fairy never fails!

Drawing- Covid-19 day 681

When I was younger I saw a picture of a Jeep car with some cute drawings on the back window. Since then I’ve always wanted a Jeep and children to draw on its windows.

It turns out I haven’t bought a Jeep yet, but this weekend I had Bianca to draw on our old Ford with the window markers I gave her for Christmas.

Her drawing looks so cute! I’ve been proudly driving our car showing off her beautiful picture of our family, trees, and blue sky.

The Pie & more- Covid-19 day 680

This past weekend our fam went to the recreation center in Orem. The girls swam while vovó exercised upstairs in the gym area. I like doing something fun on the weekend, since our week is always busy with work, school, and other responsibilities.

After recreation center we drove to South Jordan to have dinner at The Pie Pizzeria. This is the first time I take my mom there. She loved it!

We came back home past 11:00 pm, and the girls went straight to bed. This is the first time my mom goes to bed this late. She’s been going bed early, short after putting the girls to sleep.

R&R- Covid-19 day 679

We’ve been taking vovó Zete to our favorite restaurants. Today we took her to R&R to try their delicious Nachos. (Have you tried them? They are SO good!!)

My mom loves trying new things, but since I know she also loves keeping her weight, I am also taking her to the gym. We are taking silver sneakers classes, and running.

Vaccinated- Covid-19 day 676

Today our babies got their first dose of vaccine against Coronavirus.

Bianca was scared and cried a little. But they both did great! I am so proud of them. The new variant is getting a lot of children sick, so we don’t want to take any chances.

They’ll take their second shot in a few weeks.

Molluscum- Covid-19 day 675

A few months ago we noticed a small white pimple growing on Bianca’s right eyelid. One month ago today I took her to the dermatologist to have it looked at.

It turns out Bianca has Molluscum, a small, painless bump on the skin caused by a viral skin infection. The doctor applied medication, and the pimple was gone on the very next day.

Today I took her in again for a follow up. The doctor applied the same medication on a different pimple on her cheek. Hopefully, they won’t keep coming. But if it does, I will take her again.

Vovó Zete, who’s here visiting, went to the dermatologist with us. We love having her!

Sing 2- Covid-19 day 673

Our family is still sick. My mom and Ale are feeling better, but they are still coughing a lot. Last Saturday I woke up with fever over 101F. I took Tylenol and Ibuprofen and I slept all afternoon. I need to be on top of my medication, otherwise I start feeling really crappy.

Later on that day, we gathered the fam to watch the new Sing 2. The girls were looking forward to watch it, and since we're all feeling sick, it sounded like a great idea watching it at home instead of going to the movies. We put subtitles in Spanish so vovó Zete could enjoy it too.

We all loved it. Sing 2 is as good as the first one, and the girls have been watching it over and over again. We definitely like it way better then Encanto.

Orthopedics follow up- Covid-19 day 672

Remember Bianca broke her wrist back in October? Today I took her back to the orthopedic for a follow up visit.

We can see through the x-ray taken that the broken bone on her wrist is not yet all grown, but we can see it is growing back in place. The doctor said that in about a year Bianca will have a perfectly healthy bone back.

She can go back to her normal activities, and back to the monkey bars.

Booster vaccine- Covid-19 day 669

Ale and I got our booster shots yesterday. I am not feeling great. I have body ache, runny nose, headache, cough, and a fever. I can't tell if all these symptoms are from the booster, or if I got something from my mom

Ale is feeling some body ache and headache. But I think he is just the next one on the sickness chain that happens in our family every time someone gets sick.

I am glad he is working from home for the next couple of weeks, and that I have a few days home before going back to work next Sunday.

Let's hope all of us will get better soon. Fingers crossed.

Negative- Covid-19 day 668

My Covid-19 test came back NEGATIVE.

I am so grateful and so ashamed at the same time for not taken the necessary precautions to keep myself and family safe.

Coronavirus and its variants are out there. Let’s be more mindful of that and be careful. We were very lucky this time.

Sick- Covid-19 day 667

Today I took my mom to be tested for Covid-19. She has low fever, body ache, sore throat, headache, cough, and runny nose. This poor woman is not feeling great.

Ale and I have sore throat, and the girls are feeling fine. We are also concerned because we got news that someone at the New Year’s party tested positive for Covid.

The line to be tested was LONG. It took us solid forty minutes to be tested- which was not bad considering other drives had a 2 hour wait.

My mom and Ale did the rapid test, and got their results in half an hour or less. They are NEGATIVE. I did the saliva test, and I’ll be getting the results sometime tomorrow.

Since the lines for testing are insanely busy and the girls are feeling fine, I’ll wait a bit more to test them. Just until all this craziness is over.

I think what my mom has is influenza, and I have a feeling that the rest of us will get it too.

New Years- Covid-19 day 666

 Happy New Year!

We welcomed 2022 with family, a few special friends, and my mama who is visiting from Brazil. We headed to North Salt Lake around 7:00pm, after Ale and I were done with work.

We had nice music, delicious food, and a lot of laughter. We played games, and rang the New Year with hugs, love, and friendship.

I am so grateful for the wonderful people I get to be surrounded with in this earth. They make life so much lighter and fun.

I hope y’all had a great time, and let’s rock 2022!
