Bubble bap

Sometimes I have to remind myself I still have a child at home that still loves pretend play, Easter bunny, Santa Claus, and bubble baths. As much as Bianca is so smart and independent, she is only seven and loves being a kid. And that is something I love about her.

Today she asked to take a "bubble bap" (remember when she used to say that?). I sat on the toilet while we sang silly songs and played princess Sofia and princess Elena. We laughed until our bellies hurt.

I love you, Bianca.

You make me so so happy.

When you work in healthcare

About three months ago my hand started with a severe allergic reaction. I am not sure if it is because of the gloves I keep putting on and off during my twelve hour shift or if it’s because of the hand sanitizer or because of something else.

All I know is that it’s getting worse. Today at work I had to gaze my hands because I couldn’t handle the friction of the gloves on my skin. I have an appointment with work med on Thursday to see what they say.

Weekend

Last Friday Giovanna had her very first sleepover at her friend's house. At our home we have a no sleepover rule, but after meeting her friend's family, Ale and I agreed that would be okay to let her go this time. She was so happy when we told her!

I had to work on Friday, and Ale worked from home until late that night. Because of that Bianca had to entertain herself until Ale was done with work. She was sad that her sister wasn't sleeping home, so when I had time I called from work and asked her to read me her new book her sister bought her at the Book Fair at school.

After logging off from work, Ale took her to have dinner at Cafe Rio. I told her she could wake me up around 10:30 on Saturday to make a special breakfast together. I had four hours of sleep and I could barely open my eyes, but I dragged myself out of bed for our "date".

We made chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns. It was delicious. Then after breakfast we watched a movie called 9. In the meantime, Ale went to pick up Giovi.

In the afternoon, we headed to Lehi for Dominic's birthday party. He turned seven. It was super cute and the kids had a lot of fun.

Finals- 1st semester

 First semester down!

I am so happy the semester is over. It was a hard one with anatomy and pathophysiology, but I did it. After a lot of dedication I passed!

My grades might not look the greatest, but I am so proud of myself because it is definitely not easy to work full time, be a mom/wife full time, AND study full time in an accelerated nursing program in a different idiom 😅

Second semester here we go! But first, a couple of weeks off.

Exhaustion

I've been trying to survive work and school finals. It's been HARD, and I've been exhausted.

Today, Bianca put me to bed (her bed) to take a nap. She covered me with her favorite blankets and gave me her favorite stuffed animals. She also told me to think "happy thoughts" until I fall sleep.

Two hours later she came back to the room saying it was time for me to wake up. Haha.

She is so cute. I love her so much!

Giovanna receives her temple recommend

What a happy, happy day for our family! This beautiful young woman proved to be worthy of entering the house of the Lord and got her temple recommend.

We are so proud and happy for her!

The temple is a place of peace and beauty, and it is a privilege to serve there. I love going to the temple, and I can't wait to go with her!

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

So, the girls convinced us to go to the movies to watch Mario Bros.

It was good. Am I watching it again? Probably not.

Before movies, we had dinner at Rodizio Grill. And I was very, very happy about that.

Easter 2023

We came back home from St. George just in time to celebrate Easter. On Sunday the girls along with other children from Primary and the youth sang for the congregation. They had been singing the songs from the presentation for the past two weeks, and I didn't mind at all.

One of my favorite songs from the program is called Gethsemane, and it carries the sweetest message of the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ.  It says:

Jesus climbed the hill to the garden still

His steps were heavy and slow

Love and a prayer took Him there

To the place only He could go

Gethsemane, Jesus loves me

So He went willingly to the Gethsemane.

He felt all that was sad, wicked, or bad

All the pain we would ever know

While His friends were asleep, He fought to keep

His promise made long ago

Gethsemane, Jesus loves me

So He went willingly to Gethsemane.

The hardest thing that ever was done

The greatest pain that ever was known

The biggest battle that ever was won

This was done by Jesus

The fight was won by Jesus

Gethsemane, Jesus loves me

So He gives His gift to me from Gethsemane.

After church, we had our traditional Easter feast. I cooked our favorite garlic beef and broccoli lo mein, and our favorite Brazilian dessert- lime mousse. We also had our favorite Brazilian drink- guarana.

Each one of us took turns saying what we love the most about Jesus Christ. Then we watched the Easter message Pres. Nelson recorded for all members (and no member too) of the church.

Bianca loses her 8th tooth

Bianca lost one more tooth. One of her bottom left teeth was loose and yesterday it fell out after she pushed it out with her tongue.

She ran to the living room to show us her tiny tooth. Tooth Fairy came back and brought Bibi five dollars.

As I always say, Tooth Fairy never fails!

St George- Day 1 & 2

Spring break is here and the girls are headed to St George with Mindy. Ale and I stayed behind for work, bit we will meet them on Wednesday.

No doubt they are having a blast! They already went to the park, played pickle ball with grandma Marylynn, and got a facial.

I can’t wait to see them in a few days!!!
