Y mountain

Today my mom and I hiked the Y. I remember when I hiked the Y for the first time I promised myself never do it again. This is my third time hiking it.

My mom has come so many times to Utah and I never had the idea to take her for a hike there. It is a hard one, but the view is incredible. A few things along the trail have changed since my first hike; there are a couple of picnic tables, and several seats on the top and bottom of the Y.

My mom and I had a fun time together, talking and laughing.

After our hike, we stopped by at the Provo Temple to see the beautiful flowers. Aren't they wonderful?

Provo Temple is my favorite one. I will miss it so much! I am still not happy with the announcement of its reconstruction.

Dad of girls

And that's what happens when you are a daddy of a girl who loves polish nail.

Looking great, big daddy! :)

"Without question, fathers are a powerful influence on both sons and daughters- an influence that reaches well beyond the roles of provider and protector. And as new studies emerge, it's becoming clearer just how deeply the father-daughter relationship can affect a woman throughout her life in a variety of ways, including self-confidence, body image, education, career, and romantic relationships".

Easter 2022

Easter was so beautiful with family and friends over. On Saturday, we had the Britos over. I cooked my special Olive Garden recipe for dinner- pasta five ziti al forno, chicken gnocchi soup, and salad. The Britos brought bread sticks and alfredo sauce dip.

The kids had a blast running outside looking for eggs filled with yummies and surprises. Then we did a scavenger hunt for them to find their Easter baskets Easter bunny left for them. They were so lucky and got tons of fun things.

Of course, we dyed eggs and ate them!!

And of course, we celebrated the center of it all- Jesus Christ. We had a lesson about the events that  preceded His crucifixion, and His marvelous resurrection. I planned a lesson and game where the girls needed to organize the Easter events in chronological order as we learn in the scriptures.

Today was the quick off party. They had cool prizes, games, and delicious food. It was fun.

After completing the challenges each caregiver will receive a Cotopaxi backpack.

Arizona Part I

Vovó Zete turned 70 and we planned a beautiful road trip to Arizona to celebrate it. She always wanted to visit Grand Canyon so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do it.

The Brito girls joined us while the boys stayed home working. Ale couldn’t take Spring break off to go with us.

St. George was our first stop. We wanted to sleep one night at grandma’s so we could take my mom to a nice dinner while the girls had fun at the pool.

We took her to Painted Pony at Ancestor Square. The food was absolutely amazing! The whole experience was amazing- the atmosphere, the cuisine, everything! We got their perfect Onion Soup, Parmesan Crusted Lamb Chops, and Hanger Steak prepared with red wine pan sauce, broccolini, and truffle ruffles. All absolutely to die for!

To finish our perfect night we ordered two amazing desserts- Coconut Key Lime Pie and their classic White Chocolate Cheesecake Tower. OMG! I already want to go back there just for their desserts.

My mom loved the food and our time together. It was a really great night indeed!

192nd Annual General Conference

This past weekend we had the sacred opportunity to sit down as a family and hear from the prophet of God and His apostles. For the first time after the pandemic, general conference was open to the public. Limited tickets were distributed throughout stakes and districts around the US and Canada.

This year my mom and I prepared Conference journals for the girls. It was A LOT of work, but it was worth it. They turned out really cute, and the girls will be able to take notes on them every year.

On Sunday after the last session we had our traditional Ice Cream Sunday. I love general conference weekend, my family, and making memories with them. Heavenly Father is wonderful to me, and I feel His tender love and merciful hands everyday in my life.
