Dentist appointment

Ale scheduled a routine dental visit for the girls and didn't remember that their dentist is only in the office on Mondays. I don't like have their teeth checked by a different dentist because their actual dentist has known them since their very first visit to the office.

This visit turned out to be very frustrating. The dentist kept talking to his assistant while I was just there watching without understanding the technical terms he was using to talk about my kids. Then he started telling me how the girls will need to have braces placed and teeth pulled out, which scared the heck of them. He was very unprofessional and not thoughtful at all.

Since Children's Corner Pediatric dentistry became Burg Children's Dentistry things are not the same, and this last appointment was a turning point for us. I scheduled another appointment for the girls at Barry Family Dental where Ale and I go to. If everything goes well, the girls will start being seeing there, which is sad because they've been going to Corner Pediatric since 2017, but I much rather go a family owned dental office than to a chain business.

After their appointment we decided to have picnic at the park. 

Grand America

My besties surprised me with a night at Grand America for my 40th birthday. It was a spectacular experience! After living in Utah for the past over fifteen year, this was my first time at the Grand.

Day 1. We had dinner at Laurel Brasserie & Bar. I can't tell enough how wonderful their cuisine is! I am probably going back to Grand America just to dine at their restaurant.

We started with fresh bread and burrata & prosciutto- kale walnut pesto, arugula, and golden raisin. Delicious! Then we had grilled rib eye steak topped with the best creamed spinach and bordelaise sauce, and the best handcrafted potato gnocchi with toasted pistachio pesto, broccolini, fennel pollen, and pecorino cheese. 

I ordered an alcohol free spiced ginger-lime fizz- seedlip spice, lime, and ginger beer. It was perfect to accompany our delicious dinner.

We finish our dinner with toffee bread pudding for dessert and a special birthday brownie!

During dinner we all said what we love the most about each other. It was such a tender moment. I love my girls so much and I feel so lucky to have them in my life!

After dinner we headed to the indoor pool and hot tub just because we can! Ha! We also did some skin care and face masks after a long and relaxing bath. 

Day 2. Pool time! In the morning we got down to the pool to swim a bit before leaving the hotel. It was so relaxing! After check out we met with family for breakfast. 

Thank you Mindy, Mell, and Larissa for making my 4.0 birthday so special! I love you all!

Build a foundation

 Bianca went to her first stake primary activity since we moved to the English ward. I confess after dropping her off I wondered how long she would stay until she calls me to pick her up.

I was surprised that she lasted for a little over one hour before her leader texted me saying she was having an “allergic reaction”. It turns out she thought it would be fun rolling in the mud and got completely muddy and itchy. 

I cleaned her up and stayed with her until the activity was over. She had tons of fun and she is excited to do it again next year.

And just like that I am forty.

Thank you family and friends for the birthday wishes and surprises. I felt hugged and loved. 

Summer is here!

First official day of summer is in a couple of weeks , but it is already summer around here. I don’t know about you, but we are ready to live in the pool!

Giovi is back!

 

Giovanna is back from her very first Girls Camp!

First of all, she came back home anxious to shower. Then she was excited to tell us all about camp. She connected with other young women and most importantly she drew closer to her Heavenly Father.

I love Young Women’s camp. I remember and cherish every moment I had and every learning when I was a young women just like my beautiful Giovanna. Our testimony of the reality of the gospel grows stronger and we feel energized to be and do better.

Her favorite part was the fireside we always do on the last day of camp where all young women and leaders can share their testimonies. It is a very emotional and spiritual moment.

Her least favorite part was hiking (of course). But she loved sleeping in the tent, all the fun activities, cool surprises, and yummy treats. 

P.S. Bianca missed her so much! 

Pool time with Bibi

While Giovanna was at girl's camp, Bibi and I went to the pool.

Bianca loves when I get in the water because that usually means she will take a ride on my back and pretend she is riding a dolphin. 

We had a a great time together. I love you Bibi!
