Dark times

I could no believe my eyes when I read the news yesterday. I have drastically reduced the time I spend reading the news because they just report bad things around the world.

Just one day after Pres. Nelson's passing, during a Sunday service meeting in Michigan a gunman named Thomas Jacob Sanford rammed his truck into the church building, started shooting, and set the building on fire. He was killed by police officers during a fire exchange.

These are truly the last days. The scriptures teach us:

"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time" (1 John 2:18).

I know we should not be scared and prepare ourselves. It is hard not to be scared, but I also know on these last days it is crucial to work on our faith and constantly seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost. Pres. Nelson said "in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost".

I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ that comforts me and enlighten me during times of so much confusion and different opinions about everything. I know the truth, and this truth will keep guiding me and my family through these dark, dark times.
